A free Indian delivery app

Playbox is a free shopping mobile app that enables you to easily have items delivered to your location. Developed by Tech Support, this lifestyle app is an on-demand delivery service that’s available 24/7 for users. It can accommodate almost any type of item—whether it’d be food or electronics.

Its function is similar to that of Grab. However, this service is only available in the city of Gurgaon or Gurugram in India. Additionally, this app requires several permissions to be enabled for its features to work properly. You also need to register a valid Indian mobile phone number.

The best of Gurugram

Not to be confused with PlayBox or PlayBox TV—which is a media streaming app—this Playbox is for your shopping needs, offering deliveries anywhere in Gurugram. With it, you can locally order groceries, pharmaceutical products, and even electronic items and have them sent to your registered address or pinned location. Simply enter your phone number to receive an OTP to start using the app.

You’ll need to allow permissions for several functions, though: phone calls, contacts, location tracking, storage access, and camera and microphone use. These aren’t too strange when compared with other similar apps since your current location is a requirement for a successful transaction and the delivery personnel needs a way to contact you if any issue arises. However, the GPS tracking can easily drain your battery.

The user interface is simple and straightforward. It displays a live interactive map of the city and your pinned location. At the bottom are the three main types of transactions you can do: Grocery, Medical Store, and Pan/Paan Store. You can place an order for these and then select the delivery time and address. Unlike other similar apps, however, there’s no option to order from food establishments.

Could use some more features

All in all, Playbox is a nice delivery service in Gurugram, India for whoever requires simple purchases. However, when compared to other delivery apps, it actually lacks a lot of features. It can’t order food from restaurants and the service can only accommodate one specific city. Not only that but you first need a valid phone number to even open the app.

    • Can’t open the app without an Indian phone number
    • Can’t order from food establishments
    • GPS tracking drains your battery quickly

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
